FlickBag was founded by Param Gill on his quest to bring independent cinema to the masses. Param is a practicing dentist in California, who decided to exchange his drill for a 35mm camera. He established FlickBag Foundation of Arts which runs an annual film festival, honors hard working people related to field of cinema with Decade Awards and works on curbing piracy of Bollywood films in America.
FlickBag, INC. is committed to making and distributing films with social relevance and emphasize on the emotional aspect of celluloid dramas interwoven in the thread of strong cultural values.

During a festival screening of Film '3 Idiots' (Courtesy: Reliance Mediaworks), Param was so excited by the response of Western audience that he gifted the DVD of the film to everyone. Bollywood (Our nation of 1 Billion can not find a better name for our film industry???) Films are very popular in America and evoke a strong emotional response among the western audience which is sick of heartless Hollywood cinema. But thanks to rampant piracy of Indian films in US, most producers see little to no money from their projects. Many companies from India including Eros, YashRaj, Reliance etc tried to deal with piracy but to little success.
Now Param Gill has started a unique program through FlickBag Foundation which will deal with the core issue of this problem, the very audience which rents or buys pirated DVD's. A unique awareness campaign will be launched on all major TV channels in America in May 2011 which will establish the fact that any person in possession of pirated DVD's will be prosecuted to the full extent of law. Production companies wanting to be part of this campaign will have to register their films with FlickBag Foundation. FlickBag Foundation will in turn register the films with US copyright office and work on curbing piracy.
